In 2014, I was proud to stand up for Scotland's place in the United Kingdom and as the MP representing a constituency which reaches the English border, I stressed the importance of our neighbours a matter of miles away.
We were told by the SNP that it would be a once in a generation referendum for us to have our say. We said No in overwhelming numbers and we meant it.
Unfortunately, Nicola Sturgeon has been hell-bent on pressing ahead with a second independence referendum which would re-open the divisions among our communities and create huge uncertainty for businesses and people across the country.
As we come together to work for the best Brexit deal, we do not need an independence referendum dividing our communities and it is time the SNP got on with their day job.
