Mundell welcomes progress in campaign for rural mobile coverage

The long parliamentary campaign to bring mobile coverage to rural areas celebrated a milestone today, as OFCOM finally announced auction plans that will see broadband coverage increased to an estimated 98% of the UK population, and will vastly improve infrastructure in remote rural areas of the UK.

MP hails reading relay triumph

Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell visited Lockerbie Library to find out more about the reading relay taking place across Dumfries and Galloway.  Between now and 20th August readers are being encouraged to pass the book baton and recommend summer reads. MP joins calls for milk price cuts to be reversed until talks conclude

Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell is calling on major retailers and processors to consider halting the planned price cuts in milk pending further negotiations next month. Mr Mundell has welcomed the progress made at the Royal Welsh Show in what was a constructive meeting chaired by Defra Farming Minister Jim Paice MP.

The Team GB coach will be on hand at Annan Swimming Pool on Wednesday to give youngsters a taster session on the Olympic Sport as part of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Sports Academy.

Tweeddale MP calls on residents to make their voices heard in transport survey

Tweeddale MP David Mundell is urging Borders residents to detail their opinions and experiences of public transport as part of Scottish Borders Council’s Improving Access to Transport Survey 2012. Scottish Borders Council are currently looking to improve transport for older people who find it difficult to access key services easily and who do not have access to their own vehicles.
