Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell has expressed his delight after being re-appointed Secretary of State for Scotland by Prime Minister Theresa May.
Mr Mundell, who was first appointed to the role by Prime Minister David Cameron following the 2015 General Election, has carried on the Cabinet role since Theresa May took office in July 2016.
His appointment was confirmed just after 7.30pm on Monday night by Downing Street and Mr Mundell says his priority in the role is to ensure Scotland gets the best deal upon leaving the EU.
Commenting on his re-appointment, David Mundell MP said: "It has been an honour to serve since May 2015 and I am delighted to have been reappointed as Secretary of State for Scotland.
"My priority at this crucial time remains to ensure that Scotland gets the best possible deal as we leave the European Union."
