Clydesdale MP David Mundell was delighted to pay a visit to the new Abington Primary School and praised the work of staff and pupils who have settled into their new facilities.

Mr Mundell was greatly impressed by the new facilities at the school as he was shown round and described the school as a 'great learning environment'.

Commenting David Mundell MP said: "It was great to have the opportunity to visit the new Abington Primary School and nursery and I was hugely impressed by the facilities.

"Ensuring our rural schools prosper is absolutely vital for these communities and I'm in no doubt that the facilities at Abington offer a great learning environment for the staff and pupils.

"It was great to meet with the staff and pupils to find out about their positive experiences at the new school and I couldn't help be taken in by the excellent Gruffalo they have created.

"It might have been snowy outside but there was certainly a warm welcome at the new Abington Primary School and I hope to return in the future."
