Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell welcomed Wallace Hall Academy pupils Mia Osborne and Georgie Blount to Westminster as they completed a weeks work experience in the company of their local representative.
The pair, who are from Dumfries and attend the school in Thornhill made the trip to London to find out more about how the political system works and gain an understanding of some of Mr Mundell's duties in a typical week.
In amongst their duties the pair sat in on the Scottish Affairs committee, watched Mr Mundell undertake his regular Scottish questions from fellow MP's and then sat in on Prime Minister's Questions as well.
Mia and Georgie are sixth year students at the Academy and carried out the work experience as part of their Advanced Higher Modern Studies class.
Commenting David Mundell MP said: "I was delighted to welcome Mia and Georgie to Westminster for work experience and to give them a flavour of what my working week can be like.
"It is great to see youngsters being so passionate about our politics, especially with so much going on right now.
"I hope that they thoroughly enjoyed their experience at Westminster and gained an understanding of how things work that they can take back into their Modern Studies classes at Wallace Hall."
