Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell has one of the largest rural constituencies in the UK, stretching from Coalburn to Gretna and Dumfries to Peebles.
And this month the far travelled MP starts a marathon surgery tour of his large rural constituency.
His Autumn Surgery Tour in Dumfriesshire kicks off on September 14.
“This is a now a twice annual event which allows me to get round all parts of my large constituency and meet as many constituents as possible right in the heart of the community at a venue which is convenient to them,” explained the MP.
It starts on September 14 with a surgery in Hillview Leisure Centre, Kelloholm, followed by Sanquhar Community Centre. Durisdeer Village Hall is next, before he moves on to Tynron Village Hall, Closeburn Village Hall, and then ending the day at Thornhill Community Centre.
The Dumfriesshire tour continues on September 19 with a surgery at Barbour Memorial Hall, Glencaple, before moving onto McFarlan Memorial Hall, Clarencefield; Torthorwald Village Hall; Collin Village Hall; Noblehill Community Centre and ending the day at Kingholm Quay Community Centre.
September 23 will be an equally busy one, with surgeries organised in Moffat Town Hall; Johnstonebridge Village Hall; Applegarth Village Hall; Carrutherstown Village Hall; Golf Hotel, Powfoot; Royal Four Towns Hall, Hightae; Lochmaben Town Hall and finishing at Kirkmichael Parish Hall.
Surgeries on September 26 are at Ecclefechan Day Centre; Waterbeck Village Hall; Bowholm Hall, Canonbie; Victoria Hall, Kirkpatrick Fleming; Creca Village Hall; Mansfield Hall, Rigg, and ending at the Richard Greenhow Centre, Gretna.
Mr Mundell’s surgery tour ends on September 28 with surgeries at the Village Hall, Corrie; the ex-Servicemen’s Public Hall, Eskdalemuir, Ewes Village Hall and Langholm Show.
“These surgeries are over and above my regular advertised ones, and offer those living in the more rural areas of the constituency a chance to meet me and raise any concerns they may have,” said Mr Mundell.
