SHOWING SUPPORT . . . Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell (pictured) met with campaigners from Cancer Research UK at the Palace of Westminster last week.
The charity was holding a special event at the UK Parliament to coincide with World Cancer Day when politicians were joined by patients, NHS staff and researchers.
Mr Mundell was briefed on some of the latest research being carried out and how efforts were being made to achieve the ambitious goal of three in four cancer patients nationally surviving for at least a decade by 2034.
He said afterwards: "We all have a part to play to beat the disease. I know many in my constituency do a lot to support cancer charities all year round.
"It was good to catch up on all the latest research and the other excellent work going on in prevention, detection and treatment."
