A POPULAR Biggar community hub has received a funds boost, thanks to local MP David Mundell.
The Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale representative handed over a cheque for £225 to help with running costs at the town’s Gillespie Centre, which includes a cafe, halls and meeting rooms.
Mr Mundell regularly supports good causes across his large Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale constituency by passing on money he receives for sharing his views on a variety of subjects with professional survey companies.
The MP regularly drops in at the volunteer-run High Street facility, which has been renovated in recent years.
He said: “There is always a warm welcome at the Gillespie Centre and I know from speaking to constituents in the town how much that is appreciated.”
