Tweeddale MP David Mundell was delighted to have the opportunity to welcome HRH the Prince of Wales, or, as he is know in Scotland, the Duke of Rothesay to Peebles (today, Wednesday 12th June).
The local MP joined Prince Charles on a tour of Robert Noble Mill, alongside the owners and employees.
Speaking following the visit Mr Mundell said: "It was a great honour to have the opportunity to welcome HRH the Prince of Wales to Peebles.
“He received a very warm reception and welcome from local people and the individuals he met, showing the real community spirit and civic pride we have here in the Borders. This royal visit provides a real boost for the town and the local textile industry which has been going through a tough period.
“The success of the business HRH the Prince of Wales has visited shows that despite tough trading conditions the textile industry still has an important role to play in the borders, and still offers world renowned quality and vast experience. More generally the visit once again underlines just some of the outstanding businesses and attractions Peebles offers.”
