Dumfriesshire MP and MSP David and Oliver Mundell have shown their support during the special week which leads up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday June 26.
The event is an opportunity for local people to demonstrate their gratitude and appreciation to those who serve in the forces community, including service people, their families, veterans and cadets.
David Mundell said: “This year's Armed Forces Week is obviously very different to normal due to the pandemic, but I know local people still want to show their support.
“Our armed forces have a rich and proud history locally and this year, more than ever, we have seen military personnel active in our local communities, providing vital logistical support in the fight against coronavirus.
“It has been a very different challenge to those they are more familiar with, but the men and women of our forces have once again demonstrated commitment and professionalism on this new front line. They have a very diverse role and a great range of capablilities."
Oliver Mundell said: “Like many locally, I am looking forward to being able to once again take part in Armed Forces Week events, once the current coronavirus restrictions have been lifted.
“However, the unusual way in which we are all again having to marking Armed Forces Week in no way lessens our gratitude towards everyone serving in our Army, Navy, Air Force and other services, in fact quite the opposite.
“Many will be deployed around the world just now, but the pandemic has also seen forces' personnel in the Vaccine Quick Reaction Force at testing and vaccination centres in Dumfries and Galloway.
“My thanks - along, I am sure, with everyone locally - goes to those servicemen and women no matter where they are serving."
