On Tuesday, David Mundell MP welcomed a party of pupils from Newington and Elmvale Primary Schools in Annan to Parliament.
Every year or so the schools join together for a trip to London, visiting a number of the city’s key attractions.
As part of this year’s trip they stopped off for an official tour of the Palace of Westminster, where both the House of Commons and House of Lords sit. Mr Mundell met the pupils at the end of their tour and wished them well for the rest of their visit.
The Westminster tour guide was extremely impressed with their questions and interest in parliament, and remarked on how well behaved the pupils were.
Commenting afterwards David said: “Welcoming young people to Westminster is one of the highlights of being a local MP. It was great to take some time out of my busy schedule to meet the pupils from Annan. I was impressed as ever by their enthusiasm, and was glad to hear they were enjoying the trip and the chance to see London.”
The local MP added: “As ever I encourage anyone locally who is planning a trip to London to get in touch with my office to arrange a tour of the parliament.”
