Clydesdale horse

LOCAL MP David Mundell, whose sprawling constituency includes Clydesdale, says he has also always admired that particular breed of working horse.

He was swift to congratulate constituent Annie Sandell of Graitney Farm, near Gretna, when her horse Graitney Willie John won the three-year-old gelding and over class and was later judged reserve male Clydesdale Champion at Dumfries and Lockerbie Show.

Mr Mundell said: “I was delighted Annie had a successful day at the show. Her family stud is well-known in local show circles. I, of course, like Clydesdale as part of the friendly and scenic areas I'm proud to represent and the horse breed because of its look and character together with a hard-working and reliable reputation.”
