BOTH Dumfriesshire MP David Mundell and his son constituency MSP Oliver Mundell were determined the pandemic would not halt their annual Macmillan coffee morning.
The father and son political team have hosted a virtual video fundraiser for the charity in Moffat and over two hours welcomed constituents via Zoom technology from across the area.
David and Oliver were delighted with the response to the event with guests dropping in and out virtually at different times throughout the session.
They have thanked everyone who took part and this week revealed that their own and guests' direct donations had raised around £250 for the charity.
David said: "It was a great opportunity to support the fantastic work of Macmillan Cancer Support, which often helps constituents and their families, whilst the event also provided an enjoyable opportunity to catch-up with friends from all corners of my constituency."
Oliver said: "It was a safe socially-distant way for us to hold the coffee morning and, at a time when Covid-19 is dominating the headlines, also focus on the valuable ongoing efforts of Macmillan and other teams and charities working across the entire health spectrum."
