David Mundell MP welcomed Annan branch Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS) chairman John Dewar to a reception at the Scotland Office in Edinburgh to mark Armed Forces Week and recognise the work of RBLS Scotland. RBLS National President Lt General Sir Alisdair Irwin KCB CBE also attended.
Commenting Mr Mundell said: “Armed Forces Day is a chance for the British public to show their support for the men and women of the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families and from veterans to cadets; it is a unique opportunity for us all to pay thanks to the men and women who serve this country with such distinction. I was delighted to welcome Annan branch chairman John Dewar to the Scotland Office for an event marking the Royal British Legion Scotland’s work. The Legion nationally was at the forefront of making Armed Forces Day a reality and John and local RBLS volunteers do an outstanding job in our area; their work supporting our ex-servicemen and women makes a huge difference for many local people.”
